Schemes run by the Goa government
Central schemes available in Goa
These are funded by the Government of India and open to eligible residents of every state and union territory, including Goa.
PM-KISAN
PM-KISAN gives land-holding farmer families income support of ₹6,000 a year, paid directly into their bank accounts in three equal instalments of ₹2,000. Twenty-three instalments have been released so far; the 24th has not yet been announced.
HealthPM-JAY
PM-JAY gives eligible families health cover of ₹5 lakh per family per year for hospitalisation, cashless at empanelled hospitals. Since October 2024 every citizen aged 70 or above qualifies regardless of income, through the Ayushman Vay Vandana card.
Social Securitye-Shram
e-Shram registers unorganised workers aged 16 to 59 on a national database and issues a Universal Account Number card, which is used as a single entry point to a set of central social security schemes.
Women & ChildSSY
Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana is a small savings account for a girl child that currently earns 8.2% a year, compounded annually, with deposits qualifying for a deduction under Section 80C.
EnergyPM Surya Ghar
PM Surya Ghar pays a central subsidy towards rooftop solar for households — ₹30,000 for a 1 kW system, ₹60,000 for 2 kW and ₹78,000 for 3 kW or larger — so families can generate their own electricity.
Skill DevelopmentPM Vishwakarma
PM Vishwakarma supports traditional artisans and craftspeople in 18 trades with skill training and a ₹500 daily stipend, a ₹15,000 toolkit grant, and collateral-free loans of up to ₹3 lakh at a 5% interest rate.
PensionAPY
Atal Pension Yojana gives subscribers a central-government-guaranteed monthly pension of ₹1,000 to ₹5,000 from the age of 60, in return for regular contributions made from the age they join until 60.
Applying from Goa
For central schemes, apply on the national portal linked in each guide. Verification is usually carried out by your district administration or the relevant Goa department, which is why approval times vary between districts.
Documents issued by the Goa government — domicile, income and caste certificates in particular — are often required, so obtain them before you start an application rather than midway through.
