    The Prime Minister released the 23rd instalment: around ₹18,880 crore to nearly 9.44 crore eligible farmers, including more than 2.18 crore women. Over ₹4.46 lakh crore has been disbursed since the scheme began in 2019.

    Around ₹18,640 crore was transferred to nearly 9.32 crore farmers, including more than 2.15 crore women, through Direct Benefit Transfer.

Who is eligible

  • The family must be a land-holding farmer family — that is, it owns cultivable land in its name.
  • A family is defined as husband, wife and minor children. Only one benefit is paid per family.
  • Eligible farmers are identified by the State Government or UT administration under the scheme guidelines.
  • Aadhaar-based e-KYC must be completed, and land details must be seeded on the portal, for an instalment to be released.

Who is not eligible

These exclusions are as important as the eligibility rules — an application that falls into any of the categories below will be rejected or the benefit later recovered.

  • Institutional land holders.
  • Holders of constitutional posts, and serving or former ministers, MPs, MLAs, MLCs, mayors and district panchayat chairpersons.
  • Serving or retired officers and employees of central or state government, PSUs and government autonomous bodies — except Group D / Multi Tasking Staff.
  • Pensioners drawing a monthly pension of ₹10,000 or more, except Group D / Multi Tasking Staff.
  • Anyone who paid income tax in the last assessment year.
  • Registered professionals such as doctors, engineers, lawyers, chartered accountants and architects, and their families.

  • Bank account details with IFSC, seeded with Aadhaar
  • Mobile number linked to Aadhaar (for OTP-based e-KYC; face authentication in the app works without it)

How to apply for PM-KISAN

  1. Open the official PM-KISAN portal

    Go to pmkisan.gov.in. Registration is free — never pay an agent to enrol you.

  2. Choose New Farmer Registration

    Select whether you are a rural or urban farmer, then enter your Aadhaar number, mobile number and state, and complete the captcha.

  3. Fill in your land and bank details

    Enter your personal details, land holding details exactly as they appear in your revenue record, and your Aadhaar-seeded bank account.

  4. Complete e-KYC

    e-KYC is mandatory. Do it with OTP on the portal or the PM-KISAN mobile app, with face authentication in the app, or with biometrics at a Common Service Centre.

  5. Wait for state verification

    Your state or UT administration verifies your land records and eligibility. Only after verification is your name added to the beneficiary list. You can track a self-registered application on the portal.

  1. Open Know Your Status on the portal

    The Know Your Status page shows your registration, e-KYC, land seeding and Aadhaar–bank seeding flags, and the instalments paid to you.

  2. Enter your registration number

    Enter your PM-KISAN registration number and the captcha, then verify the OTP sent to your registered mobile. If you do not know the number, use Know Your Registration No. with your Aadhaar or mobile number.

    e-KYC, land seeding and Aadhaar–bank seeding each show Yes or No. Any No holds up your instalment until it is fixed — see the rejection reasons below for the fix.

Why applications get rejected, and how to fix each one

Most rejections and stuck payments come down to a handful of record mismatches. Find yours below.

e-KYC shows No
Complete e-KYC by OTP on the portal or app, by face authentication in the PM-KISAN app (no OTP or fingerprint needed), or by biometrics at a Common Service Centre. Payment resumes from the next instalment once the flag turns Yes.
Land seeding shows No
Your land record has not been linked to your registration. Contact your state or district nodal officer, or the local agriculture or revenue office, with your khatauni or land record so the state can seed it.
Aadhaar–bank seeding shows No
Your bank account is not linked to Aadhaar for Direct Benefit Transfer. Visit your bank branch, ask them to seed Aadhaar to the account and enable it in the NPCI mapper. Post office savings accounts can do the same.
Name does not match across Aadhaar, land record and bank
Even a spelling difference stops payment. Get the record corrected at the source that is wrong — the bank, the revenue office, or Aadhaar — so all three match, then use the correction option in Farmers Corner.
OTP never arrives for e-KYC
Your mobile number is not linked to Aadhaar. Use face authentication in the PM-KISAN app instead, which needs neither OTP nor fingerprint, or complete biometric e-KYC at a CSC. You can also update the mobile number registered on the portal.
Marked ineligible after verification
Check the exclusion list above. Income tax payers, pensioners on ₹10,000 or more a month, government employees and registered professionals are excluded, and benefits paid to an excluded person are recovered. If you believe the marking is wrong, take proof to your district nodal officer.
Bank account closed, dormant or changed
DBT fails if the seeded account is inactive. Reactivate it, or seed a new Aadhaar-linked account through the correction option in Farmers Corner and at your bank.

Frequently asked questions

When is the PM Kisan 24th instalment coming?

No date has been announced. The 23rd instalment was released on 20 June 2026 and releases have come roughly every four months, but the government confirms each one only a few days in advance through the Press Information Bureau. Any site giving a specific date before that is guessing. Use the time to make sure your e-KYC, land seeding and Aadhaar–bank seeding all show Yes.

How much money is given under PM-KISAN and how often?

Eligible farmer families receive ₹6,000 per year, paid in three equal instalments of ₹2,000 each, directly into their bank account.

Why has my PM-KISAN instalment not arrived?

The most common reasons are incomplete e-KYC, land records not seeded, or a bank account not linked to Aadhaar. Open Know Your Status on pmkisan.gov.in — it shows exactly which of these is pending against your registration number, and the rejection list on this page gives the fix for each.

Is e-KYC compulsory for PM-KISAN?

Yes. You can complete it with OTP on the portal or app, with face authentication in the PM-KISAN mobile app, or with biometrics at a Common Service Centre.

Can both husband and wife get PM-KISAN separately?

No. The scheme defines a family as husband, wife and minor children, and pays one benefit per family.

Are income tax payers eligible for PM-KISAN?

No. Anyone who paid income tax in the last assessment year is excluded from the scheme, along with their family.

Is there a PM-KISAN helpline?

PM-KISAN is a central scheme, so it is open in every state and union territory. Verification, and the state-issued documents you may be asked for, differ by state.
