What each Uttar Pradesh scheme pays and who qualifies
Kanya Sumangala Yojana
What you get. ₹25,000 per girl, paid one stage at a time by DBT: ₹5,000 at birth (girls born on or after 1 April 2019); ₹2,000 on completing full immunisation (girls not born before 1 April 2018); ₹3,000 on admission to class 1; ₹3,000 on admission to class 6; ₹5,000 on admission to class 9; and ₹7,000 on enrolling in a bachelor's degree or a certified diploma course of at least two years after passing class 10 or 12.
Who it is for. Girl children of families resident in Uttar Pradesh with annual income of ₹3 lakh or less and at most two children. Up to two girls per family are covered, with exceptions for twins and adopted orphan girls.
Eligibility conditions
- The family must be resident in Uttar Pradesh, shown by a ration card, Aadhaar, voter ID, electricity bill or telephone bill.
- The family's annual income must be ₹3 lakh or less.
- The family must have at most two children.
- At most two girls per family benefit. If the second delivery produces twin girls, all three girls are eligible; if a girl is born first and the second delivery produces twin girls, all three are eligible.
- An adopted orphan girl counts within the limit of two girls, including biological children.
- Stage 1 applies to girls born on or after 1 April 2019; stage 2 to girls not born before 1 April 2018.

Uttar Pradesh pays a girl child ₹25,000 in six stages from birth to graduation — ₹5,000 at birth, ₹2,000 on full immunisation, ₹3,000 each on entering class 1 and class 6, ₹5,000 on entering class 9, and ₹7,000 on enrolling in a degree or two-year diploma. Family income must be ₹3 lakh or less.
