Why applications get rejected, and how to fix each one

Most rejections and stuck payments come down to a handful of record mismatches. Find yours below.

Bank account not linked to Aadhaar, or not in your own name
The transfer is made by DBT to an Aadhaar-seeded account held by the woman herself. Ask your bank to seed Aadhaar to your account and enable it for DBT; a joint or family member's account will not work.
e-KYC pending on your record
Use the e-KYC page on the official portal to complete it. Payments are generally held until the record is verified.
Name or date of birth differs between Aadhaar and the application
Correct whichever record is wrong so the two match, then update the application on the portal.
Income or residence proof not accepted
Use exactly the documents listed on the portal's Required Documents page. Residence proof must show Maharashtra residence; income proof must show family income below ₹2.5 lakh.
Marked ineligible after verification
The Government Resolution sets out the ineligibility conditions in addition to the income and age limits. Read the scheme information page on the portal; if you believe you were wrongly excluded, raise it through the grievance route the portal provides.
