What each Karnataka scheme pays and who qualifies
Gruha Lakshmi
What you get. ₹2,000 every month, paid by Direct Benefit Transfer into the beneficiary's Aadhaar-linked bank account — or by RTGS where the account is not linked to Aadhaar.
Who it is for. Women named as the head of the household on an Antyodaya, BPL or APL ration card issued by the Karnataka Food and Civil Supplies Department. Gender minorities were brought into the scheme by administrative approval in July 2023.
Eligibility conditions
- You must be a woman, and your family must live in Karnataka.
- You must be named as the head of the family on your ration card — Antyodaya, BPL or APL all qualify.
- The ration card must be one issued by the Karnataka Food and Civil Supplies Department.
- Gender minorities are eligible: the benefit was extended to them by administrative approval dated 18 July 2023.
- You need a bank account for the transfer. An Aadhaar-linked account is paid by DBT; an account without Aadhaar linking is paid by RTGS.
Who is not eligible
- The head of the family, or the husband of the head of the family, pays income tax.
- The head of the family, or the husband of the head of the family, files GST returns.
- The ration card names a man as the head of the household.

Which schemes does the Karnataka government run?

Karnataka pays ₹2,000 a month to the woman named as head of the family on an Antyodaya, BPL or APL ration card. Registration has no closing date, and payments have been going out by Direct Benefit Transfer since 30 August 2023.
