What each Bihar scheme pays and who qualifies
Mahila Rojgar Yojana
What you get. An initial ₹10,000, paid straight into the woman's bank account, to start an employment or self-employment activity of her choice. Six months after the work begins the enterprise is assessed, and further support of up to ₹2 lakh can follow depending on how it has done. Training is provided, and the state has said it will set up haat bazaars in villages and towns to help beneficiaries sell what they make.
Who it is for. One woman from each family in Bihar. The scheme runs through the state's self-help group network, of which JEEViKA has close to 11 lakh groups.
Eligibility conditions
- You must be a woman living in Bihar.
- The scheme is designed to cover one woman from each family in the state.
- You must intend to start an employment or livelihood activity — the launch named grocery, utensil, cosmetics, toy and stationery shops, and livestock work such as cattle rearing and poultry, as examples.
- Rural applicants are covered through JEEViKA self-help groups; urban applicants register on the scheme's separate urban portal.
How to check your application status
- Open the payment status page on the portal. The scheme portal has its own payment-status page at mmry.brlps.in/payment-status. This is the only official place to check whether your ₹10,000 has been released.
- If the portal will not load, wait and retry. Government portals under heavy load often return an error page. Do not use a lookalike site that offers to check your status or your name in the list — the official domain is brlps.in, and nothing else speaks for the scheme.

Mahila Rojgar Yojana
Bihar gives one woman in every family ₹10,000 to start a livelihood of her own, with up to ₹2 lakh more later if the enterprise works. The scheme was launched on 26 September 2025, when ₹10,000 was transferred to 75 lakh women at once.
