Mahtari Vandan Yojana
What you get. ₹1,000 per month, credited by DBT to a bank account held in the woman's own name that is linked to Aadhaar and enabled for DBT.
Who it is for. Married women of Chhattisgarh aged 21 or above as on 1 January 2024, including widows and divorced or deserted women.
Eligibility conditions
- You must be a married woman resident in Chhattisgarh. Widowed, divorced and deserted women are eligible.
- You must have completed 21 years of age as on 1 January 2024.
- You need a bank account in your own name — not a joint account — linked to Aadhaar and enabled for DBT.
- Your mobile number should be registered with the bank account.
Who is not eligible
- Women from a family in which any member pays income tax.
- Women from a family in which any member is a Class I, Class II or Class III officer or employee — permanent, temporary or contractual — in a central or state government department, undertaking, board or local body.

- Open the application and payment status page. Enter your application details to see approval and month-by-month payment status.
- If a payment shows as failed. The portal publishes the reasons payments fail and the fix for each — see the rejection list below. Most are bank-side and can be corrected at your branch.

Chhattisgarh pays ₹1,000 a month to married women aged 21 and above — including widowed, divorced and deserted women — by Direct Benefit Transfer. Around 70 lakh women are covered; the first installment of ₹655 crore was released on 10 March 2024.
