Who is eligible for Mahila Rojgar Yojana?
- You must be a woman living in Bihar.
- The scheme is designed to cover one woman from each family in the state.
- You must intend to start an employment or livelihood activity — the launch named grocery, utensil, cosmetics, toy and stationery shops, and livestock work such as cattle rearing and poultry, as examples.
- Rural applicants are covered through JEEViKA self-help groups; urban applicants register on the scheme's separate urban portal.
Which documents are required for Mahila Rojgar Yojana?
- Aadhaar card
- A bank account in your own name, linked to Aadhaar — the ₹10,000 is sent by Direct Benefit Transfer, which is what the Jan Dhan, Aadhaar and mobile linkage exists for
- The mobile number linked to that account, for verification and updates
- Your self-help group membership details, if you are applying through a JEEViKA group
How do you apply for Mahila Rojgar Yojana?
Check the official portal first
mmry.brlps.in is the scheme's own portal, run by JEEViKA. It is where the definitive eligibility conditions, the document list and the application route are published — read them there before acting on anything else.
In rural areas, go through your JEEViKA self-help group
The scheme is executed by the Bihar Rural Livelihoods Promotion Society through the self-help group network, so the group and its community mobiliser are the route for rural applicants.
In towns and cities, use the urban portal
Urban applicants have a separate JEEViKA portal at mmryurban.brlps.in with its own self-registration form.
Keep the bank account ready for the transfer
The assistance is a Direct Benefit Transfer, so the account must be in your own name and Aadhaar-linked. Applying is free — no one may charge you for the form or for getting it approved.
Expect an assessment after six months
Six months after the enterprise starts, it is assessed, and further assistance of up to ₹2 lakh may be sanctioned depending on how the work has gone.
How do you check your Mahila Rojgar Yojana status?
Open the payment status page on the portal
The scheme portal has its own payment-status page at mmry.brlps.in/payment-status. This is the only official place to check whether your ₹10,000 has been released.
If the portal will not load, wait and retry
Government portals under heavy load often return an error page. Do not use a lookalike site that offers to check your status or your name in the list — the official domain is brlps.in, and nothing else speaks for the scheme.
Why do Mahila Rojgar Yojana applications get rejected, and how do you fix them?
Most rejections and stuck payments come down to a handful of record mismatches. Find yours below.
- The bank account is not linked to Aadhaar, or is not in your own name
- The money moves by Direct Benefit Transfer, so it can only reach an Aadhaar-seeded account held by the beneficiary herself. Ask your bank to seed Aadhaar to the account and enable it for DBT.
- Another woman in the same family has already been covered
- The scheme is built around one woman per family. If you believe the person recorded is not part of your family unit, raise it through your JEEViKA group or the block office rather than filing a second application.
- You are looking for your name on an unofficial list
- Payment status is published on the scheme's own portal at mmry.brlps.in/payment-status. Lists circulated on other websites and in messaging apps are not official and several of them ask for a fee.

State-wise notes
- Both scheme portals were unreachable when we last checked on 7 September 2026 — mmry.brlps.in returned a gateway error and the urban portal a server configuration error. Everything on this page therefore comes from the Press Information Bureau, the Prime Minister's Office and DD News rather than from the portal.
- Because of that, we do not publish a detailed age, income or caste criterion for this scheme, and you should not trust a site that does. When the portal is back up, its own eligibility and document pages are the authority.
