How to download your Ayushman card on the portal
The National Health Authority's beneficiary portal is the official website for the card.
Log in as a beneficiary
On beneficiary.nha.gov.in, choose Beneficiary, enter your mobile number and the captcha, and verify with the OTP. If you are already a beneficiary, the portal also lets you log in with your member ID.
Check whether you are covered
Logging in with your mobile number is how the portal lets you check whether you are a beneficiary. Anyone aged 70 or above qualifies for the Vay Vandana card whatever their income.
Complete Aadhaar e-KYC
e-KYC is mandatory. Along with OTP, you can verify by fingerprint, iris scan or face authentication.
Wait for approval
Your Aadhaar details are matched with the scheme's records, and the card request is approved or rejected accordingly. Use Check Status on the portal to see where it stands.
Download the card
Once the card is approved, download it from your beneficiary login.
Using the Ayushman App
The National Health Authority launched the Ayushman App for making Ayushman cards. Its self-verification feature lets you create the card in four steps without visiting a card creation centre.
The app supports face authentication, OTP, iris and fingerprint verification. Download links for Android and iOS are on the beneficiary portal itself — install the app from there, not from a link someone sends you.
Aged 70 or above: the Vay Vandana card
Enrolment is through the Ayushman App, the beneficiary portal, a nearby empanelled hospital or a Common Service Centre, and self-registration is available.
For help, give a missed call to 1800-110-770 or call the 24x7 helpline, 14555.
If your card is not approved yet
- Pending or rejected: approval depends on your Aadhaar details matching the scheme's records. Check the card status on the portal.
- Old photo or address: the portal's Redo e-KYC option updates them from Aadhaar.
- Card made without Aadhaar e-KYC: use the portal's Link Aadhaar option.
- A family member is missing: the portal has an Add Member option for adding a new member to an existing family.
- Still stuck: file a grievance through the Centralised Grievance Redressal Management System, the 14555 call centre, email, or a letter to your State Health Agency.
State variations
Many states have extended the scheme to more families at their own cost, sometimes under their own scheme names.
In Odisha the scheme runs together with the state's Gopabandhu Jan Arogya Yojana, with a single card. In Delhi, beneficiaries have been able to create Ayushman cards since April 2025.
