The scheme guideline pays ₹10,000 a year in two installments of ₹5,000. The first is released on the occasion of Rakhi Purnima, and the second on International Women's Day, 8 March.
Rakhi Purnima follows the festival calendar, so its date changes every year. International Women's Day is always 8 March.

Missed installments have been paid later before: on 22 January 2026 the state released the first, remaining second and third installments to more than 4.57 lakh women who had not received them.
